PSA 202 Crime Trends:

Total crimes in May 2021 were similar to those in May 2020. Total Crimes remained low this month and were 35% lower than the historical monthly average over the past six years.

Crime Details by Category:

Assault with Dangerous Weapon (1 Total)

  • Sunday, May 9, 7:58 PM; 4227 block of Wisconsin Ave, NW; CCN 21060045. This took place at the Psychiatric Institute of Washington. The suspect and victim knew each other and the suspect was apprehended by the MPD. 

Burglary (1 Total)

  • Friday, May 14, 2:56 AM; 4900 block of Wisconsin Ave, NW; CCN 21062398. A suspect forcibly entered the Shell gas station while a second suspect remained outside in a vehicle. Once inside, the suspect took property, including vehicle keys. One of the suspects then entered the employee’s vehicle and fled the scene while the other suspect fled the scene in a separate vehicle.  This crime was one of seven that are believed to have been perpetrated by the same group of suspects. One suspect was arrested by detectives from the MPD’s Carjacking Task Force on May 26.
