PSA 202 Crime Trends:

Total crimes in June 2021 were similar to those in June and in July 2020 with the exception of Thefts Other. Total Crimes remained low this month and were 38% lower than the historical monthly average over the past six years.

Crime Details by Category:

Robbery (1 Total)

  • Sunday, July 18, 6:34 AM; 5400 block of Western Ave, NW; CCN 21099027. The victim was walking on Western Ave and saw the suspect walking toward her and grabbing his hip. As the suspect approached the victim, he displayed a handgun, demanded her purse and told her to run away. The victim threw her purse in the direction of the suspect. He was last seen fleeing on foot on Cedar Parkway into Maryland. No arrest have been made thus far. 

Burglary (2 Total)

  • Thursday, July 1, 1:53 AM; 5100 block of Wisconsin Ave, NW; CCN 21089175. The suspect entered through an unsecured door and stole US currency and assorted electronics. No arrests have been made. 
  • Wednesday, July 21, 4:31 AM; 3805 block of Ft Drive, NW; CCN 21100723. Officers received a ratio call in reference to three subjects in Deal Junior High School stealing computers. Officers arrested on the scene and saw 3 suspects running from the vicinity of the school. Two suspects were found, arrested and charged with Burglary 2. 

Motor Vehicle Theft (1 Total)

  • Monday, July 19, 8:23 AM; 4600 block of Chesapeake St NW; CCN 21099585. The victim’s vehicle was stolen from the location with the keys still inside the vehicle. The vehicle has not been recovered.
