Crimes reported in September 2023 were 14% lower than in August 2023 and 11% lower than in September 2022. The Monthly average of Property Crimes is 20% higher in 2023 than in 2022. The Total monthly average crime for 2023 is 16% higher than 2022 monthly averages (31.56 vs 27.25) and 22% lower than then historical monthly average from January 2015 through Sep 2023 (31.56 vs 40.30).

Crime Details by Category:

Motor Vehicle Theft (2 Total)

  • Friday, September 15 at 8:30 PM; 5300 block of Wisconsin Ave, NW; CCN 23152827. The reporting party stated they parked their scooter and upon their return, noticed it was missing. Also stolen were their bank cards and passport. The next day, they reported that the bank cards were utilized on multiple points of sale since. The scooter was later recovered in the rear of 331 N St NE.
  • Sunday, September 17 at 2:44 PM; 4600 block of Wisconsin Ave, NW; CCN 23153685. The reporting party reported that an unknown subject stole the listed vehicle which was parked in front of District Taco restaurant, The engine was left running and the doors were unlocked but the key was with the reporting party The reporting party rented the car through the application called TURO. The rental company was able to track the vehicle to the 1100 block Lamont St NW DC where it was later recovered.
