of the District of Columbia Whereas residents of the District of Columbia are not afforded the same form of representation in the United States Congress as residents of the 50 States; and, Whereas members of neither the Executive nor the Legislative branches of the Federal Government are engaged in an effort to remedy this situation; and, Whereas various organizations, including DC VOTE, have begun to coalesce around the principle of fair and equal representation in Congress for District of Columbia Residents; Now, therefore, Advisory Neighborhood Commission 3-E resolves to support the principle of full representation in Congress for the residents of the District of Columbia, and that Members of Congress elected to represent said residents enjoy full voting privileges accorded Members from the 50 States. ANC 3-E approved this resolution unanimously at its monthly public meeting on March 9, 2000. Commissioners present were Jill Diskan, Chris McNamara, Steve Posniak, Charles Mayo, and Tad DiBiase.
