Resolution
in support of Wilson Senior WHEREAS Wilson Senior High School has long had difficulty meeting the parking demands of its teacher and students; WHEREAS the parking spaces located closest to the school has 68 metered spaces that are only 15% filled during the school year according to a survey done by the Wilson Senior High School Student Government Association; WHEREAS the Student Government Association has proposed the creation of parking stickers for Wilson vehicles. These stickers would cost $45 per school year and allow the holders, and only the holders, to park at these metered spots during the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. WHEREAS allowing the use of Wilson parking stickers would alleviate teacher and student parking in the residential neighborhoods surrounding the school, make it safer for students to park without having to cross dangerous intersections at Nebraska Avenue and Chesapeake Street and Nebraska Avenue and Cumberland Street, and would free up blacktop space currently used for teacher parking; THEREFORE, ANC 3-E supports the Wilson parking sticker proposal. ANC 3-E approved this resolution 5-0 on April 13, 2000. Commissioners present were Jill Diskan, Chris McNamara, Steve Posniak, Charles Mayo and Tad DiBiase.
